Developing a Fitness Goal

This may seem obvious, but one of the most important steps in your fitness journey is developing an end goal, whether that be to lose 5 or 20 pounds, build muscle, or to become generally more healthy and fit. It is only after you know where you want to go that you can start on the correct path. For example, if you want to build lean muscle, you’re going to need to start eating more calories instead of fewer. (Check out my post on the importance of nutrition if you haven’t already). If you want big visible muscles rather than being lean and toned, then you will have to focus your training schedule on lifting heavy weights with few repetitions. I cannot stress how important it is to have a set goal in mind so that you can stay focused and motivated! Also, make sure to surround yourself with people who support and promote your goals. Keep track of your progress, and no matter how slow you feel it may be going, reward yourself! One of my favorite treats after a long week is an acai bowl, which can be made similar to any other smoothie, but I love to use this powder.
